What Are The Causes Of Anxiety
Attacks?
Have you ever wondered if there are causes of anxiety attacks?
Nowadays anxiety disorders can sometimes be the most common
mental illness. In the United States about 50 million of adults
are infected. This represents over 18% of the total population.
These figures continue to increase all over the world, which is
why this is a serious matter that demands immediate attention.
Although these studies are generally made only on adults, this
disorder affects individuals of all ages.
A normal reaction for us would be to blame it on stress, too
much work or an over pressuring day. However, scientists have
studied what are the causes of anxiety attacks and have found
them to be the following:
Chemical imbalance
There are two main neurotransmitters, which are serotonin and
dopamine. They
both affect a person’s feeling. The imbalance of these
chemicals could provoke a cause of anxiety attacks in which it
is expressed by feeling depressed or sad.
Genetics
Anxiety disorders are hereditary as they usually passed on from
one father/mother to the daughter/son or any other
relative.
The composition of the brain and its process are inherited
entirely and this could be another reason why people who have a
chemical imbalance can pass on the anxiety disorder, which in
turn will cause the anxiety attacks. Also being raised as a
child in an abusive home, where the family showed anxiety and
violence persistently can cause anxiety
attacks.
Fight or Flight Mechanism
When we detect danger, our body starts to get ready to either
fight or run away.
This is referred as fight or flight
mechanism.
This type of mechanism is activated by a part of the
brain called Amygdale. Often, the brain
misunderstands the message and a situation and then it
will interpret it as dangerous when in reality it is
not. This
can also be a cause of anxiety attacks.
These symptoms are real and very terrifying. They convince us that there
is something wrong and because of it we become scared and
untrusting.
Scientists say that a failure of the flight or fight is the
main cause of panic attacks.
Besides the different medications available, scientists have
also discovered the chance to reduce these symptoms now, by way
of technology and modern science. All we have to do is to learn
how to recognize these symptoms and get a consultation with a
doctor as soon as possible. As with any other disorder,
if anxiety is treated in time, the outcome results will be
successful.
Be in alert with your body and try to recognize when is sending
you the wrong symptoms. Don’t always rely on guessing
what your diagnosis could be and consult with your
doctor. The doctor
may know something you were not aware of. Build a knowledgebase and
learn methods that will help you in stopping your anxiety
attacks. You can
also try reading books about anxiety so that you can learn more
about it.
