Building Self Confidence

It is very difficult to build self confidence when you are feeling depressed. However, there are some methods you can use to try and fight your depression so that you can bring back or build your self confidence. The following are things you may want to try which may help you for building self confidence in you.

Free yourself – Go out and do what you want!

How long has it been since the last time you had a walk around the pines-perhaps something you loved to do as a child?  When did you last have a walk hand in hand with your friend to the bakery store and tossed a coin to decide what you wanted to buy?  These things might sound like simple things, but they do have the power to bring up your confidence and accomplishment.

Life doesn’t really have to be complicated.  In fact it could be quite simple.  What often becomes a problem though is to remain simple.  Isn’t it?  Just like small amounts of water make the mighty ocean, the little things you enjoy doing in your life have the power to turn you into a huge storehouse of confidence.

When God created us, He put a desire in our hearts and gave us the ability to achieve it.  However, while growing up, you may forget what your purpose is, what you really like in life and what you enjoy doing the most.  This happens to a lot of us.  Many people would want to break free but feel so tied up in their everyday responsibilities that it becomes nearly impossible for them to take even 5 minutes to reflect on their lives, their direction and their dreams and goals.

It is our job to get rid of the mess that keeps us from listening to our heart.  The communication with your heart should keep getting clearer and the best way you can do this is by finding time to do what you enjoy.  And because you enjoy doing that activity, it immediately means that you have all the capacity and intelligence required to do the job easily even though you may not realize it.

Find your flock

Birds of a feather flock together.  You should try to be around people with whom you enjoy being.  They are unquestionably the people of your regularity and the energy flow between you and them is natural.  You will see life much easier when you are with the people who are basically on the same plane of thought as you and this makes it easier to relate to them.  They will be able to understand you much better and vice versa, this way it will create circumstances for healthy conversations.

A good conversation represents a very healthy exercise and a significant necessity of our mind.  We all want our ideas to be heard and valued and a good company can provide platform for the same.

Set Achievable Goals and try to accomplish them!

Your journey of a thousand miles begins with one single step.  The best thing you can do is to start with a small single step that can then further develop into gigantic strides.  Discover how to do the work at hand rather than overwhelming yourself by thinking of it as a mammoth looking task.  Just like the soil you step on, the top of a mountain too would someday be under your step if you chose it to be.  The only way you can achieve something is by going for it!

It doesn’t matter how small the progress is, you should focus on completing a task successfully, even if it is the tiniest task. A series of big uncompleted task is almost a guarantee shot way to depression.  If you believe a task is too big for you to handle all at once then try to break it into a list of several small tasks to be completed.  Mark off your list each job that is completed successfully.  One completed task, regardless of how small it is will give you a sense of achievement that will boost your confidence and will motivate you and give you more energy to try a bigger task.
