Andropause And Depression
Andropause is associated directly with depression, which plays
a major part in the notorious mid-life crisis period men face
in their late 40´s to late 50´s.
There are a great variety of symptoms and conditions men
experience during this mid-life transition – everything from
the mental (i.e.
irritability) to the physical (loss of libido, lack of energy,
and weight gain.) Depression, if left untreated, could become a
disabling condition.
Andropause depression occurs due to dropping levels of
testosterone. Low
testosterone levels cause various depressive symptoms, along
with a general indifference to events surrounding you, the
inability to concentrate, extreme irritability, and memory
loss.
We may stress over things that might otherwise be worry-free in
a typical everyday life situation and brood over certain
matters. We start
losing our memory and then we begin to see our lives in a
negative light.
Energy levels fall and interest for the activities we used to
enjoy will become flat-lined. Insomnia and restlessness is
also a usual symptom. Typical daily things can
become a burden to us, and the simplest scream of a child could
make us extremely irritable.
Psychologists use a range of battery tests for diagnosing
depression on a person. In addition, they hand you test sheets
to work with, they also put you under inspection – observing
your behavior, tendencies, and habits while talking to them.
Men have a tendency to be rebellious creatures by nature. We
love shrugging off our faults and being poised in the midst of
emotional trouble. We take on the role as masculine creatures -
lion kings of the jungle that reign over the sprawling
landscape we call life.
Men could be in complete denial when it comes to questions
about their sexual capacity and prowess. We don’t seem to accept to
understand that we aren't the same one we once were with our
sexual performance due to Andropause being in our
blood.
Fellas, it is time to become aware and acquainted with your
depression severity. Off the bat, there are facts
and numbers that support depression as a big
problem. For one,
eighty percent of all suicides in the United States are done by
men.
A large amount of people who are suffering from Andropause
never look for the recommendation and counsel of therapists,
psychologists, and psychiatrists. Possibly the most surprising
fact of all is the male suicide rate is highest throughout the
Andropause years.
That is correct! - Highest during these years we're
particularly talking about.
How to deal with Andropause and all with these devastating
changes to our lives? How could we manage stress to
reduce the chances of clinical depression? First, we should follow a
daily exercise routine. That in addition to a
caffeine free diet will boost our immune systems to fight
depression and many other diseases. It will also help slow down
the aging process.
Endeavor to maintain that explosive 30-inch, vertical leap well
into your 60s!
Another great thing is doing the activities we
enjoy. Don't stray
from playing your pick up basketball games with buddies or
building those go-carts from scratch as a
hobby. Stick
to them and enjoy the satisfaction of doing
so. Try as
much as you can to distract yourself from your present
condition without ignoring it entirely.
Keep a social network of friends and family that will cheer you
up when you need it most. Something as simple as having
your young child shove a hand drawing of a red school bus in
your face can provide you with enough laughs and
smiles. The most
essential piece of advice is to accept your situation and make
accommodations.
For example, low testosterone levels can easily be supplemented
with testosterone cream.
It is likely to happen to all of us, and you either have the
choice of making the best of it or allowing it to overwhelm
you. Awareness is
critical, and an optimistic attitude, followed with physical
activity and a good nutritional habit, is the best way of
fighting Andropause, anti-getting old, and the demon referred
as depression.
