All About Depression: What It Is, The
Types And The Causes
Depression is a very serious condition that needs
attention.
Depression does not discriminate. It will affect people,
regardless of their age, gender, race, or social
class. Normally,
depression tends to make a person feel sad, hopeless, helpless
and irritable. It
is absolutely normal for somebody to have these types of
feelings every now and then. However, it becomes a problem
when someone is not able to control these feelings and they
become a major depression.
The determination and violence of the emotions is what will end
up differentiating the mental illness of depression from normal
mood swings. We will talk about the different types of
depression and the different ways it can affect
people.
Depression is an illness that will affect many different
things, such as your body, mind, thought, sleep, energy,
disposition, weight, concentration and much
more.
Depression is neither a mood nor a sign of personal
weakness, therefore, it cannot be just willed
away.
Clinical depression is very regular and could obstruct
considerably with a person’s ability to function by emotional
experiences of sadness, loss or passing mood
states.
Clinical depression could potentially become very
disturbing and obstruct with an individual’s everyday
life, family relationships, friendships, and the ability
to work or go to school.
Bipolar disorder, or manic-depression, is a mood
disorder. This
means that the symptoms from bipolar disorder are
irregularities of a person’s mood. If untreated, bipolar
disorder is such a devastating condition that it could lead a
person even to suicide.
Major depression is a more common illness. When major depression affects
a person, the symptoms consist mainly of low
moods.
Causes of depression
There are several things that can cause
depression.
The deficiency of various neurotransmitters in the brain
that signal from one nerve cell to another represents a
good contributor of depression. A problem with
depressed people is that their immune system is normally
very low and it becomes ineffective when responding to
diseases, like cancer. The everyday stressors
faced by many individuals have become too much for many
to handle, and rationally so. Lately, taking an
anti-anxiety medication or anti-depressant has become
almost as common as taking a daily
multi-vitamin.
How to alleviate depression
Certain amino acids are used for the treatment of
depression. Amino
acids are the organic molecules that help produce protein for
your body. There
are a little over 20 types of amino acids. Currently, there are two
amino acids that are known to alleviate depression in many
people. These are
tyrosine and L-phenylalanine (LPA). The two amino acids are a
natural precursor of various neurotransmitters.
